MACGAMUT 6
MacGamut 6 was started as an ear training program for Macintosh and then expanded to work on Windows also.
It is a physical product with a price tag of US$40 + $3 shipping in the US and $5 elsewhere.
There is a 20% discount for orders of 5 or more.
There are mini-demo versions available to download.
While this is a worthwhile product with a number of built in exercises and the usual ear training features including the option to create custom content, it is also clumsy and old-fashioned.
It asks you to restart your computer after download which seems rather unnecessary.
Then comes a bunch of windows telling you that the demo version is severely restricted and to create a user file plus more messages to do this and that.
It feels like a matron is hovering over your shoulder.
For my liking this program is too complicated, has too many unnecessary instructions and message boxes and is not worth the $40 price tag.
For a little extra money you can get EarMaster Pro which eats this product alive.
